In the beginning ...
I was actually just looking for a nice new choker, without any ulterior motives. That was around the beginning of 2021. I wanted it to be a little bit kinky, with a big ring, and vegan, please. That's all I wanted. But everything I could find online was either too simple, too blatant or not vegan.
So the only thing left for me was: DIY ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And suddenly ...
more and more people start asking me if they can buy this stuff? Phew. I really appreciated the response, but registering a business, being self-employed, it was all far too much stress for me. I just wanted to tinker around with something pretty! And I tinkered, and carried out individual requests, and new designs were added (tentacles, anyone?); "tinkering" became a craft with proper tools and everything that goes with it. And yes, admittedly, I now also make somewhat more outrageous pieces.
"But selling only part-time," I said to myself, "keep everything real simple and only via Instagram."
"Real simple?" Fiddlesticks!
Many things weren't simple at the time. Burnout, one job more fucked up than the next, and then an unexpected dismissal when I was on sick leave for a while.
Now the struggle was real. Off to the next job or try full-time self-employment?
Leaving the "security" of a permanent position, the journey into the unknown, was something I was terrified of. But once the first step was taken, I quickly realized that LuneNoir fulfills me in a way that no job in the world ever could.
So here we are...
After lots of wonderful feedback from you, many new friends and cooperation partners, and many a cat sticker on the club toilets of this world, I look forward to you accompanying me on my further journey with LuneNoir!
